FROM IDEA TO ARCHITECTURAL MODEL (CCM)

From Idea to Architectural Model (ccm)

PROFESSORS: ANDREA PAZOS, HORACIO GARCÍA

During this module, students explored the fundamental concepts of design, such as repetition, gradation, radiation, symmetry, balance, anomaly, and tension. Through sheets and practical exercises, they achieved a deep understanding of these principles, essential for creating solid compositions.

The project culminated in a three-dimensional piece measuring 80x80 cm, made of MDF, where they applied these fundamentals using layered structures. Additionally, they experimented with the tape art technique, employing masking and acrylics to create solid blocks of color. This experience allowed them to delve deeper into color application and develop technical skills in material manipulation.

Alba en transparencia
de ser solar

María Luisa Becerril, Sara Sofía Castañeda

Dawn reveals the opportunity to be transparent, to be reborn without colors and embrace new ones, only when the rays of light meet our being and unveil our renewed essence. This project is composed of MDF, paints, battery paper, ideas, and drawing sheets.

It was created by drawing inspiration from the exhibited sheets, adhering to the principles of design and color theory to craft a composition that emanates peace in the glow of a rising sun.

ORDENADA NOSTALGIA

Carol Granciano, José Eduardo Echavarría

Nostalgia, order, focus, and timelessness inspire this composition, rooted in the Soviet Constructivist design of the 1920s. Straight lines, bold forms, sharp angles, and a restrained palette reflect the era's emphasis on design efficiency.

Colors like beige, prevalent in advertising, and a muted blue nod to propaganda aesthetics of the time. Geometric shapes establish an optical illusion through rhythm, repetition, and movement, evoking a sense of order while forging a connection to the past through a modern lens.

Fuego Fino

José Pablo Amador, Sara Isabel Cerón

The design combines warm tones such as red, orange, and yellow, symbolizing success and ambition, with a geometric flame that reflects order and determination. In contrast, the dark blue background, featuring undulating curves, represents the chaos and instability of the external environment.

This duality emphasizes the balance between the internal strength of the individual and the unpredictable challenges of life, highlighting the importance of maintaining organization in the face of disorder.
