DESIGN PROJECT 1 (CCM)
MONTSERRAT CASTAÑÓN
NEW EXPERIENCES FOR RESTAURANTE QUINTONIL
As one of the best restaurants in the world, Quintonil is characterized by the use of local ingredients previously ignored by Mexican haute cuisine. One of its objectives is to offer its customers unique experiences and share with them the history of these ingredients and their cooking. As well as artistically show the harvest of the day.
WOODEN DISPLAY FOR COLLECTIVE CARDS
Alexis Herrera
Wooden display for collectible cards with graphics and information about the representative ingredients of Quintonil. It was designed for the final moment of the tasting menu, so the client can browse through them and take them as a keepsake of their visit. In some cards they will find a free cocktail for their next visit.
QUINTONIL SPOON
Ximena Portillo
Seeking to improve the client experience for Quintonil, this project focused on an object that can be used during dining, and also be a keepsake. A wooden spoon inspired by the shape of a grasshopper, as a complement, a ceramic spoon holder that matches the restaurant’s tableware.
TRAJINERA QUINTONIL
Ali Zaldivar
Quintonil aims to create a new experience for its customers to learn more about the local ingredients they use in the kitchen. By abstracting the shape of a trajinera, a ceramic display was created to bring a set of cards to the table. These cards contain key graphics and information and can be kept as a keepsake.
EXHIBITION TABLE FOR FRESH INGREDIENTS AND SOMMELIER CART
Andrés Duarte
Oakwood table designed for the display of fresh ingredients inside Quintonil. On the top, three dishes can be displayed;below, it has temporary storage space and a designated space for the sommelier’s cart, which currently does not have a fixed place.
INSECT DISPLAY
Angélica Arenas
Looking for an alternative to display the edible insects used at Quintonil, I designed an object that allows the client to explore the insect and learn about it. Playing with the traditional character of Mexican cuisine and the innovative approach of chef Jorge Vallejo, it was possible to create a composition that merges these two concepts.
WOODEN CUBES
Araceli Montaño
A family of wooden cubes whose function is to serve as a display for the fresh ingredients used at Quintonil. They have different sizes so they can adapt to the needs of the elements exhibited everyday.
