PRECIPITACIÓN
The bad distribution of water in Mexico City provoques an important social inequality. Which has worsened due to the increasing drought. That is why, now more than ever, the rain has become our best ally. Precipitación is an ensemble of projects that have the objective of providing clean rain water to everyone.
Project in collaboration with Rotoplas.
PISKANI
Fátima Azul Colunga, Nathalia Camacho, Jessica Escoto and Joana Olguín Villa
Nature has proven to be a path to innovation. Therefore, Piskani imitates the shape of plants through an accessible and adaptable system with the purpose of collecting and making use of rainwater.
Furthermore, it seeks to reduce visual impact by improving the aesthetics of conventional rain collectors.
OASIS
María Merino, Ma. Fernanda Andrade, Mariana Martínez and Genaro Ramírez
Oasis seeks to promote outdoor coexistence by creating a sense of community, aside from having the objective of rehabilitating green areas that have suffered from drought.
This structure proposes a new way of collecting and filtering rainwater to water parks, gardens and groves during the dry season in private and public common areas.
LLUVIAL
Paulina González, Liliana Villegas, Diego García, Ixchel Roa and Fernanda López.
The way nature communicates with us is beautiful, poetic and pure. We take advantage of this natural language to create a dialogue between system and user. This is how rain slips through the petals and is stored in the center. As it fills, it pushes an analogous mechanism that opens and closes the leaves.
SOLAR PURIFIER
Abraham Batres, Artemisa Leal, Paola Quintana, Daphne Hidalgo and Elihu Pérez Soria.
Rain water purifier made from ceramics and glass that works with the solar distillation method. Our system can also put back the minerals that the water lost during the distillation, to guarantee a good quality of water suitable for consumption. This purifier can be adapted to a leaf filter that removes solid waste.
