DESIGN PROJECT 4 (CEM)

FINAL PROJECT

Assistive device for people with disabilities, using existing devices o products as input for the design product. The device was conceived to help users with daily activities while recording information about user’s behavior to adjust its functionality. We work closely with FINDEDIS, A.C. (Foundation for the Inclusion and Development of People with Disabilities), who provided validation through the process.

HONORARY MENTION

Francela Gallo Camargo

This project is designed for people with motor disabilities and the elderly. It consists of 2 devices that are used for the seat belt. One serves to release the belt and the other works to bring it closer to the user. It records its use and give a reminder to use it. Its purpose is to give a feeling of independence and security since it makes easy the task of fastening and unbuckling the belt.

DIMS

Diego Camacho Ordaz

Medical consultation experience targeted at people with hearing disabilities, whose objective is to give independence to their translator, as well as to generate their own medical history. It consists of two main aspects: a mobile app that simulates the different phases of a medical consultation through a symbolic language, and a rotating base for interaction between patient, mobile and doctor.

This device can be integrated into any wheelchair so that people with motor disability can exercise their legs autonomously at three different levels: basic, intermediate and advanced. The exercise will be carried out, since when the person displaces the chair, the leg will imitate the circular movement of the wheel.r

Lizeth Reyna Ramos

Hermell is a device designed for the visual disability people. ​It has 3 functions: a button to record the voice, a volcanic that keeps the user selected smell and a QR code to be scanned in stores; together they help with garment recognition so that users can have more options when dressing.

TOUCH ATTIRE

This set of buttons with different textures and its applicator has the objective that people with visual disabilities can create sets or simply identify what pattern or color their clothes have. The applicator is small and allows you to put the buttons safely so that they do not fall unexpectedly.

HI-LIFT

Mariana Ávila Cárdenas

The project was designed for people with motor disabilities in wheelchairs. It carries and elevates the user without requiring a minimum strength of the person. It prevents eschars and makes an activity that requires a change of position easier. Includes a recording system that keeps a record of the frequency of use and the user’s weight.
