HISTORY AND THEORY OF FASHION IN MEXICO AND THE WORLD IN THE 20th CENTURY (CCM)
PROFESSOR ANA ELENA MALLET
FASHION FILM #SHOTONiPHONE & PODCASTS
During the second semester of 2021, our course, History and Theory of Fashion in Mexico and the World. XX Century was 100% digitally and therefore the outputs of each term had to respond to that format.
The results were exercises that sought to complement the visual culture of the students. From the beginning I proposed that we should understand Fashion at a glance, as a tool to see the world differently. The students developed their projects in teams, an experience that will give them the opportunity to understand the scope of collaboration. Based on these premises, the students worked on two projects: a podcast series of 5 chapters entitled Fashion and Liberation and a Fashion Film, recorded with Apple technology using an iPhone.
Both projects represented a challenge not only technically but also conceptually. I found the results to be very encouraging; the students, in addition to reviewing the topics covered in class and including them in their narratives, were able to identify current discussions, some of which are polemic but are present in fashion and are evident in everyday life.
The podcast and Fashion Film are media related to contemporary times. Using both media as tools for creativity and education, allowed us to experiment new meanings with instruments and techniques that are not traditionally used for these ends.
I am pleased with the results. I do think it was a round course, which fulfilled the program, the objectives and also encouraged creativity and a new way of seeing the everyday through the lens of Fashion.

MANIFIESTO PUNK
André Garcí, Marianne Richaud, Krysta Paulina Hernández, Regina Sánchez García and Ana Cristina Campos Medina
This fashion film addresses punk as a social youth movement, parting from a punk manifesto written by the vocalist of the band Bad Religion, Greg Graffin. He developed the punk ideology and declared it as more than a musical genre. In this fashion film we seek to create a connection between the manifesto's five points and punk fashion to explore its transcendence as a medium for individual expression.

The habit of Thrifting has existed in society forever, however, it was not until the introduction of consumer culture, that recycling or reusing garments began to be demonized, of course, that the opportunities for the less privileged did not improve so that they could buy completely new garments, of good quality and at affordable prices.
