MATTER AND EXPRESSION (CCM)

MATTER AND EXPRESSION (CCM)

PROFESSORS: ENRIQUE HINOJOSA

FIRST APPROACH TO MATERIALS

Third semester design students engage in exercises that introduce them for the first time to working with general materials such as plastic, wood, ceramics, and metal. The objective is to explore the formal and constructive possibilities of the materials, basic transformation processes, the use of workshop tools, and the application of necessary finishes to realize a functional object that arises from the student's creativity.

EQUILIBRIO CONSTRUCTIVO

Julia de la Vega

The project consists of a side table that combines metal and pine wood, characterized by its right angles. It incorporates a hidden warm LED lighting system, ideal for environments with low light. Its construction included assembly, sanding, sealing, and strength testing processes, achieving a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

This set of four ceramic bowls is crafted using the slip-casting method in plaster molds and finished with a vitrified glaze. Two bowls feature a raised relief design, while the other two showcase recessed patterns, creating a complementary interplay of textures.

The harmonious design makes these bowls stand out in any setting, seamlessly blending aesthetics with functionality.
