EXTENDED EXPERIENCE BLOCK
During 5 weeks the students developed an experience. They started with the design of a stool using the masculine and feminine as a concept and produced 8 identical pieces that are exhibited in a PopUp store that allows the personalization of the stools.
The experiences promote reflection on the feminine and masculine and make us question the role of design in the construction of gender.
SPREAD
María MerinO, Majo Velasco, Jessica Escoto, Joana Olguín, Marina Salinas, Genaro Ramírez, Fernanda Andrade and Mariana Aréchiga
SPREAD is a meticulously designed stool made entirely from recycled materials that invites you to practice conscious man-spreading, as part of a socially and politically reflective process. Spread’s pop-up store provides an immersive space for users to live and reflect on their experience.
SILUETA
Omar Guadarrama, Gabriela Márquez, Ana Cecilia López, Paulina Sofía González, María Fernanda García, Ricardo Romero, Rodrigo Valadez and Karla Daniela Zúñiga Portugal
Silueta is a stool born from the abstraction of the human body. Among straight and curved lines that delimit the assemblable pieces, wood is the ideal material to represent with its grain the natural marks of the skin. Its construction process invites the user to introspect, to admire its perfectly imperfect, unique and strong silhouette.
BANQUITO CALLEJERO
Ximena Camara, Adriana Juárez, Camila Navarro, César Rivera, Alan Tinajero, Sebastián Cobo, Andrea Medina and María Fernanda
Maintaining the urban aesthetic hand in hand with design, Banquito Callejero is a stool designed for all women who seek to sit comfortably.
Thought out down to the smallest details, the stool has a footrest for heels, handles for stability, can be stacked to save space, and is lightweight for easy portability. Made of steel and painted in different colors, with a cushion that complements it, the stool maintains the essence of a Mexican taqueria.
AMPLITUD
Liliana Villegas, Ixchel Roa, Diego García, Naomi Palacios, Nathalia Camacho, Michel Espindola and Andrea Morán
Amplitude is inspired by the gender gap, it arises from reflection to the action of breaking stereotypes.Sitting with your legs open is usually the most common male position to sit in, however, this is often frowned upon in women, so we designed a bench in which women can adopt this position freely.
Encouraging reflection after an experience that will leave tangible impregnated the disagreement that will allow the change to adopt a common position for everyone
