TRANSICIONES
A product family was created in response to a process and a way of communication through objects and the materials that compose them. Transiciones is a project that seeks to connect the natural world with the world shaped by human intervention through a critical discourse. The collection aims to explore how design can reflect the transition between these two realms, questioning the impact of human creation on the environment while promoting a deeper understanding of their interconnectedness. The project serves as a visual and conceptual bridge, highlighting both the beauty and consequences of these transitions.
AURA
Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Ximena Monroy
The soul is considered the immaterial essence of a being, the force that gives us life and shapes our own essence, leaving a mark as we transcend. Aura is a family of three candles made of waxed paper, supported by a brass structure that only provides support to the paper as it is lit.
The design seeks to evoke the mark left by the soul as it transcends the physical, reflected through the impressions the paper leaves on the brass. The soul is ephemeral and intangible, so our candles invite contemplation, forming a unique pattern each time they burn.
dualia
Daniela Sánchez, Alejandro López
Dualia is not just a set of objects but a manifestation of conscious design. The process combined experimentation, iteration, and collaborative work, resulting in pieces that represent cooperation and the balance between the natural and the artificial. T
hese pieces express the essence of the concept of symbiosis in a design that connects with both emotions and the environment. Through thoughtful design, Dualia invites reflection on the harmonious relationships between elements, emphasizing the interdependence that exists in nature and human creation.
nube
Mariana Vazquez, Misael Ramirez
Nube (cloud) is a series of vases made from copper and brass, inspired by the concept of transgenics, which merges the artificial and the natural, creating a new way of seeing what often goes unnoticed. These pieces highlight the beauty of small flowers, magnifying them through a lens that invites contemplation of their details from a fresh perspective.
By not requiring water, the vase allows the flowers to follow their natural cycle, changing color and preserving their shape without altering their essence. Exclusively designed for small flowers, "Nube" celebrates delicate and ephemeral beauty, giving it a central and eternal place.
