JEWELRY DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE (CCM)
PROFESSOR ALEJANDRA ALFARO
JEWELRY COLLECTION
The students designed a jewelry collection of between 3 and 5 pieces, which were manufactured using the techniques seen in the semester: wax modeling, laminated wax, metal cutwork or 3D modeling.
The design process is documented in a book where the concept, inspiration mood boards, manufacturing process and studio photographs are presented.
METAMORFOSIS
Diego Camacho
This is a collection of 3 rings that are inspired by the metamorphosis process that an insect (not necessarily known) undergoes. Each one represents a phase of transformation, both physiological and structural.
These are modeled in 3D, printed in cast resin and subsequently cast in silver, with an oxidized and polished finish.
CONSTANTE
Ángeles Rodríguez Hernández
Development of a collection from the design of the concept, aesthetic line, typology, materials and finishes. Produced through the application of mixed jewelry techniques. Constant, is a collection made up of a ring, a bracelet and a pair of earrings; produced by hand with cold joints; following the concept of constant change and its representation in water.
INCOMPLETO
Samantha Sarmiento Becerril
Although things look incomplete, they really are not, we just have to change our perspective. Incomplete plays with the silhouette and views of the ring giving two perspectives (top and side). Ring modeled in wax and cast in silver
CUMBRE
María Rojas
Inspired by rough textures, evoking earth’s reliefs. This ring refers to the mountains that for many years have been a representation of the sacred for different cultures. Its most symbolic aspect is because it is identified as the closest thing to heaven.
