integral proyect (Ccm)
PROFESSORS: ALDO CAÑEDO, OSCAR MIRANDA, ANTONIO SINHUE
In their eighth semester, students developed an integral project that brought together all the skills acquired throughout their academic journey. This final stage challenged them to address or rethink current social, cultural, and environmental issues through innovative and meaningful design solutions. Each project reflects not only technical ability, but also critical thinking, creativity, and a commitment to generating positive impact in today’s world.
FAN LIGHTS
Alondra Gómez García
Fan Lights is an interactive lighting design proposal created for concerts and live events, with the aim of strengthening the emotional connection between artists and their audience. Alondra developed a system of portable light devices that, synchronized with the music or choreographed through an app, allow the public to actively participate in the atmosphere of the show.
Inspired by the phenomenon of fan service in pop culture, particularly K-pop, the project sits at the intersection of product design, experience design, and accessible electronics. In addition to the functional prototype, it includes a visual communication strategy, packaging, and potential activation scenarios.
Fan Lights reimagines light as a medium for collective and emotional expression within the contemporary culture of mass events.
RUMBO
Ana Karen Hernández Lobato
Rumbo is a digital application designed to guide people through the process of finding a home, offering more than just a list of options: it provides comprehensive support. The platform integrates personalized filters, automated follow-ups, organizational tips, and a user-focused intuitive interface.
Ana Karen envisions an experience where the technical and the emotional are intertwined: recognizing that searching for a home also involves anxiety, expectations, and life changes. Rumbo not only presents properties but also builds a log of decisions, needs, and priorities.
Its design is rooted in empathy and aims to address real challenges in the housing search, making technology a true ally in choosing not just where to live, but how to begin a new stage in life.
Tōnal
Francisco José Garduño Gutiérrez
Tōnal is a piece that unites the materiality of wood with the human gesture. Hand-carved with a gouge, the chair preserves the marks of its making, revealing the authenticity and craftsmanship behind its creation.
Rather than concealing the wood’s origin, fire highlights its grain and history. Through controlled burning, the surface is transformed, acquiring a unique artisanal character.
The design seeks a balance between form and function, with a timeless aesthetic that invites both contemplation and everyday use.
DUNGA
Iyali Campos Salgado
Dunga is a textile bag brand that honors and reinterprets Mexican craftsmanship through an intimate and conscious perspective. Inspired by the cultural richness of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Michoacán, the project blends traditional techniques such as backstrap weaving and symbolic embroidery with natural materials like cotton and linen.
The brand emphasizes collaborative work with artisan communities under principles of fair trade, cultural respect, and sustainability. Through a sober and functional aesthetic, Dunga seeks to redefine the everyday use of bags as an extension of identity, memory, and connection to one’s roots. Its guiding concept, “arreglarse con raíz” (getting ready with roots), proposes a fashion that does not impose, but rather engages in dialogue with the land, the people, and the knowledge that make it possible.
CATÁRSIS
Paola Zárate Garza
Catarsis is a board game for children that helps them understand and express their emotions in a fun way. Through game dynamics, illustrated cards, and reflection exercises, it supports the recognition of feelings and the communication of needs.
The project combines graphic design, child psychology, and industrial design to create an accessible, empathetic, and visually appealing tool. Catarsis is presented as an educational alternative for parents, teachers, and mental health professionals.
